The Center For Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy
Founder and Director, Dennis Tirch PhD
We practice a range of cognitive and behavioral methods, such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT).
Our clinicians have advanced training and experience in the treatment of a range of psychological problems, including: anxiety, depression, responses to trauma, addictive behaviors, attentional difficulties, chronic pain, problems with stress, marital difficulties, and chronic shame.
At The Center, Our ultimate valued aim is the alleviation of human psychological suffering, through the use of research based methods for cultivating mindfulness, acceptance, compassion, and behavioral flexibility even in the face of great distress.
If you are seeking treatment or consultation for psychological problems, or if you are faced with circumstances that have led you to think about speaking with a therapist, we would be happy to speak with you, personally. Our aim is to provide you with psychotherapy or consultation that has a demonstrated research record of effectiveness.
If you are interested in training in cognitive and behavioral therapies such as Compassion Focused Therapy, ACT or mindfulness informed CBT, please have a visit to our “Training” page to catch up on upcoming events. Private supervision and training may also be available by appointment, so please feel free to call us with any questions.
We have private practice locations in the heart of Piermont, NY and in Monroe, NY.
Dr. Tirch is also available by appointment in Manhattan, at The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy.
