“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive.” H. H. the 14th Dalai Lama
Hello, I’m Dr. Dennis Tirch, and I would like to welcome you to The Center for Mindfulness and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). As our name suggests, all of our work at The Center is grounded in the principles of compassion, mindfulness and acceptance – in service of the alleviation of human suffering.
This is important to us, because while there are so many different roads you can travel in the world of cognitive and behavioral psychology, we are committed to this vision of applied clinical science.
Our therapists have advanced training and experience in the treatment of a range of psychological problems, including: anxiety, depression, responses to trauma, addictive behaviors, ADHD, chronic pain, dealing with stress, emotion regulation problems, marital difficulties, and chronic shame.
To take a closer look at the way we approach the mind and emotional wellness, you can drop in on my blog at Psychology Today. If you spend a little time exploring our website, there is even more information, including videos, audio meditations for download, and articles on mindfulness, acceptance and compassion.
Our residential and visiting psychologists and trainers are internationally recognized experts in mindfulness and compassion based forms of cognitive behavioral therapy. At The Center, we are dedicated to providing clinical services, advanced training, research and education in evidence based psychotherapy. Specifically, our team has expertise in:
- Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
In 2012, our friend and colleague, CFT founder and UK psychologist, Dr. Paul Gilbert, encouraged us to create the first Center for CFT in the USA, and to develop an American wing of The Compassionate Mind Foundation. Our mission has now expanded to further the dissemination and development of CFT and compassion focused ACT in the United States.
We aim to provide you with a destination for a deep understanding of these revolutionary innovations in psychology, as well as a safe and compassionate place to seek research based psychotherapy for psychological problems and the stress involved in our complex lives.
You may reach us directly at email@example.com or 862-228-1118.
Compassion Focused Therapy is rooted in evolutionary science, cognitive-behavioral research, and the applied neuroscience of emotion. With an understanding of the science of compassion, our team of therapists, trainers and researchers, continues to develop new approaches to psychological flexibility, and the cultivation of compassion. Feel free to contact us with any questions, and we will be in touch.
Sending Warm Wishes to You and Yours,
Dr. Dennis Tirch
